About the company and role:

A well-established custom home builder known for quality work, high standards and a close-knit team. The business has seen significant growth over the last 2-3 years, and still continues to grow. They're now at a point that they're looking to add an experienced Senior Accounts Officer to run the day-to-day accounts. You'll be responsible for the core accounting function and report to the senior management team. An overseas-based Accounts Officer does most of the AP/AR data entry, so your time goes on the work that needs your expertise: payroll, compliance, reconciliations and making sure the numbers are right.

Key responsibilities

- Process payroll and superannuation, distribute payslips, and review staff timesheets

- Prepare and lodge BAS/IAS and payroll tax

- Prepare and manage sales agreements and the progress claims that go with them

- Reconcile bank and credit card accounts

- Review AP/AR entered by the overseas Accounts Officer and be their go to for guidance and quality checks

- Process payments to suppliers, subcontractors and staff accurately and on time

- Follow up and report on accounts receivable

- Keep Truth Engine accurate and aligned with Xero

- Help prepare weekly cash flow reports and do month-end journals and cost allocations

- Keep supplier, subcontractor and employee records accurate and up to date





- Handle finance enquiries from the construction team, subcontractors and clients

About you

- 5+ years in accounts, ideally with job costing

- Strong Xero skills (essential)

- Truth Engine or a similar job management system, highly regarded

- Solid payroll, super and BAS experience

- Building or construction industry experience, highly regarded

- Excellent attention to detail and able to manage competing deadlines

- Confident communicator who works well on your own and as part of a team
