Are you a skilled Motor Mechanic with a passion for keeping fleet vehicles and specialised equipment in prime condition? We are seeking a motivated and experienced professional to become a vital part of a busy workshop dedicated to maintaining, repairing, and enhancing a diverse fleet of vehicles and plant assets. About the Role:
As a Motor Mechanic, your expertise will ensure our fleet assets remain safe, compliant, and operational through scheduled maintenance and reactive repairs. You will support the workshop in delivering top-notch service for a variety of diesel vehicles, plant, and specialised equipment, including garbage compactors and road sweeping trucks. The position involves diagnosing faults, conducting repairs, and maintaining detailed service records, with a focus on safety and continuous improvement.
Salary:
$60 per hour
Working Hours:
Monday to Friday, 7:30 AM – 4:00 PM
Required Skills & Qualifications:

- Qualification as a Motor Mechanic or related discipline
- Extensive experience in diesel vehicle, plant, and heavy equipment maintenance




- Proven diagnostic skills and fault-finding capability
- Proficiency with computerised maintenance management systems (CMMS or fleet management software)
- Strong planning, organisation, and record-keeping skills
- Valid Driver’s Licence and Heavy Rigid (HR) endorsement

Nice to Have Skills:

- Experience with garbage compactor technology or similar heavy-duty specialised equipment
- Basic welding, fabrication, and body repair skills
- Ability to source technical information and service bulletins effectively

- Demonstrated experience with fleet maintenance, preferably in a similar operational environment
- Prior hands-on experience with heavy vehicles, including garbage compactors and road sweepers

- Ability to work as part of a team in a fast-paced workplace
- Commitment to workplace safety and adherence to WHS/OHS standards
- Ability to work flexible hours and participate in on-call breakdown support when required
