Mount Isa Hospital, part of the North West Hospital and Health Service in Queensland, is seeking a Mental Health Clinician to join its Acute Care Adult Community Mental Health team. This is a five-week contract position running from 26 October to 29 November 2026, based in Mount Isa. The role offers an opportunity to deliver mental health support in a regional setting, working alongside an established team committed to accessible, quality care for the local community.

Preferred Requirements

- Current experience working within Queensland Health mental health services
- Demonstrated knowledge of CIMHA (Consumers,



Individuals, Mental Health Australia) principles and practice standards
- Ability to work effectively across acute inpatient and community mental health settings
- Strong clinical assessment and care planning skills in adult mental health
- Excellent communication and collaboration with multidisciplinary teams and consumers

Preferred Qualifications

- Relevant tertiary qualification in nursing, psychology, social work, occupational therapy, or allied mental health discipline
- Current professional registration with the relevant regulatory body (AHPRA, AASW, or equivalent)
- Post-graduate qualification or demonstrated specialist experience in mental health practice
