About NAPCo
The North Australian Pastoral Company (NAPCo) was founded in 1877 and is one of Australia's leading beef cattle companies, managing over 6.1 million hectares, largest single herd in the world and home to Five Founders Beef. NAPCo employs approximately 220 staff operating across Queensland and the Northern Territory, with 15 cattle stations, a Depot in Mount Isa, a Feedlot and Farm in the Darling Downs and an office in Brisbane's CBD.

Alexandria Station, NT
Located on the Barkly Tableland in the Northern Territory, Alexandria Station was acquired in 1877 and holds a special place in NAPCo's 150-year legacy as the company's founding station. Spanning 700,000 hectares and running approximately 45,000 head of cattle, Alexandria is home to NAPCo's Alexandria Composite Stud and neighbours NAPCo stations Gallipoli, Mittiebah and Soudan.

The role
The Stud Coordinator will play a key role in coordinating and maintaining accurate records for Alexandria Station's stud activities. Reporting to the Station Manager, this role will see you working collaboratively across NAPCo's supply chain to support broader operations, balancing accurate data recording and coordination with hands-on work out on station.

Day to day duties include:

- Draft stock in line with the Stud program, including measuring traits and recording data
- Locate calves, record birth dates, and tag and weigh calves from September through to late December
- Ensure all stud data is accurate, complete and maintained to a high standard
- Support operational plans for cattle husbandry by stock camp, including mustering, drafting and processing cattle through the yards




- Undertake cattle husbandry procedures as required
- Ensure livestock are handled in a quiet and sensible manner, with a strong focus on health and welfare
- Lead a stock crew when performing or supporting stud management activities
- Assist with supplementary feeding and nutrition systems

Ideally the successful candidate will have/be:

- Experience leading a crew as a Leading Hand or Head Stockman
- Excellent livestock handling skills, with a quiet and sensible approach
- Strong horse-riding and motorbike-riding skills
- Well-developed mechanical knowledge and practical skills
- Well-developed verbal and non-verbal communication skills
- Good computer and record-keeping skills, including Excel
- A current Driver's Licence
