ACEREZ is a consortium, comprised of ACCIONA, COBRA and Endeavour Energy which has been appointed Preferred Network Operator by EnergyCo to design, deliver, operate and maintain the transmission line network for the Central-West Orana Renewable Energy Zone (CWO REZ).

The recent state-of-art transmission infrastructure, which will combine high-capacity transmission lines, digitally enabled energy hubs and related infrastructure, will enable generators such as solar and wind farms and energy storage providers in the CWO REZ to connect to the electricity grid, providing a reliable supply of clean, affordable electricity for households and businesses across NSW while helping to meet the state’s newly legislated Net Zero targets.

THE OPPORTUNITY

As Primary System Assets Engineer, you will report to the Assets Manager and lead the transition of primary system assets from construction to operations. You will oversee maintenance planning, monitor asset performance and provide strategic leadership in asset lifecycle management, working closely with many stakeholders. Assets in scope include power transformers, shunt reactors, instrument transformers (CTs/VTs), high voltage circuit breakers, disconnectors and earthing switches, busbars, surge arresters, harmonic filters and synchronous condensers. The role works closely with Operations, Maintenance, Engineering and external stakeholders.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

This position will:

- Develop and implement Primary System Asset Management strategies aligned with ISO 55001 principles
- Lead the transition of assets from construction to operations, ensuring integration into M&L; systems




- Oversee the development and execution of maintenance plans in line with safety protocols and operational standards
- Continuously monitor asset performance, identify gaps and implement corrective measures
- Support network planning with internal stakeholders, network operators and generators
- Produce high-quality management and performance reports with actionable insights and recommendations
- Lead asset risk assessments and conduct operational audits and compliance monitoring
- Oversee compliance with the Project Deed for all asset management activities
- Serve as the primary point of contact for asset-related incidents, investigations and inquiries
- Share expertise with M&L; personnel, particularly field-based teams, on asset management best practice

SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS

- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering (preferred) or related field; CPEng (current or working towards)
- Certification or membership in asset management (e.g. IAM, GFMAM, AM Council) desirable
- In-depth understanding of power systems, HV/EHV networks and primary assets, including transformers, switchgear, busbars, CTs/VTs and surge arresters
- Experience in condition monitoring and predictive, preventive and corrective maintenance
- Knowledge of ISO 9001, 14001, 45001 and 55001, and relevant electrical safety codes
- Experience with risk assessment frameworks and incident investigation
- Proficiency in life-cycle cost analysis and CAPEX/OPEX optimisation
- Experience with Enterprise Asset Management Systems (EAMS)
- Excellent stakeholder management, negotiation and communication skills
- Valid NSW Driver's Licence and Construction White Card
