About Sway Curtains

Sway Curtains is a Sydney-based, family-owned business creating custom curtains, blinds and window furnishings for residential and commercial spaces.

Our reputation is built on beautifully finished products, careful workmanship and close attention to every detail. As our business continues to grow, we are looking for an experienced curtain maker or tailor to join our production team.

About the role

You will be responsible for producing custom-made curtains and other soft furnishings to a consistently high standard.

Your work will include:

- Sewing, tailoring and finishing custom curtains

- Working accurately from measurements, specifications and production instructions

- Cutting and handling a variety of premium fabrics

- Operating industrial sewing machines

- Checking measurements, stitching, hems and finishes throughout production

- Completing alterations and adjustments when required

- Assisting with Roman blinds if you have relevant experience

- Conducting final quality checks before completed products leave the workshop

- Working with the team to meet agreed production timeframes

Because every product is made to order, accuracy and pride in your workmanship are essential.

What we are looking for





Previous professional experience making or tailoring curtains is mandatory. This is not an entry-level sewing position.

You will also need:

- Strong industrial sewing-machine skills

- The ability to work confidently with large fabric panels

- Excellent attention to detail

- Experience working from measurements and specifications

- A strong understanding of quality finishes

- A reliable, organised and efficient approach

- The ability to work independently and as part of a workshop team

Experience making Roman blinds will be a significant advantage.

Experienced professional tailors and dressmakers are also encouraged to apply, provided you have hands-on experience making or altering curtains.
