We are looking for a reliable, enthusiastic and experienced Cook to join our café kitchen team within a busy club environment.
The successful applicant will be responsible for preparing and cooking quality meals, maintaining high standards of food presentation and hygiene, and working efficiently as part of a friendly hospitality team.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook meals, café food and menu items to a consistently high standard.
- Follow recipes, portion controls and presentation standards.
- Assist with food preparation, including chopping, portioning and ingredient preparation.
- Maintain a clean, organised and hygienic kitchen and food preparation areas.
- Follow all food safety, hygiene and workplace health and safety requirements.
- Monitor food quality, freshness and stock levels.
- Assist with receiving and storing deliveries appropriately.
- Minimise food waste and maintain effective stock rotation.
- Work efficiently during busy service periods.
- Communicate effectively with kitchen and front-of-house staff.
- Assist with menu preparation and changes when required.
- Complete cleaning and end-of-shift kitchen duties.
- Contribute to a positive and professional team environment.
About You
The ideal candidate will have:
- Previous experience working as a Cook in a café, restaurant,
club or similar hospitality environment.
- Good knowledge of food preparation and cooking techniques.
- Strong understanding of food safety and hygiene practices.
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Reliable and punctual work habits.
- A positive attitude and willingness to assist the wider team.
- Ability to work a flexible roster, including weekends, evenings and public holidays where required.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Food Safety Supervisor certification, or willingness to obtain one if required.
- Relevant commercial cookery qualification is desirable but not essential, depending on experience.
- Current right to work in Australia.
- Previous experience in a high-volume kitchen is advantageous.
