Reporting to the Production Manager, the Machinist is responsible for performing CNC and manual machining operations to produce components to required specifications, quality standards and production timeframes.
Key responsibilities
- Operating CNC double head milling machines
- Performing manual milling and machining operations as required
- Setting up machines, tooling and components for machining operations
- Proofing new programs
- Completing precision mechanical measurements to ensure dimensional accuracy
- Interpreting technical drawings for component specifications
- Identifying and resolving machining issues relating to machine setup, tooling and programs
- Performing routine operational maintenance and following all safety and quality procedures
About You
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- Certificate III in Engineering – Mechanical Trade
- Previous experience in CNC and manual machining
- CNC programming experience will be highly regarded
- Ability to interpret engineering and technical drawings
- Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills
- High attention to detail and commitment to quality
- Good mathematical and precision measurement skills
- Good communication skills and a positive, can-do attitude
- Willingness to complete a Pre-Employment Medical, including Drug & Alcohol testing
