About the role
We are seeking a dedicated Thrift Shop Manager for our Ulverstone Corps! You will lead the operations of the store ensuring quality customer service, cash handling and upkeep of the shop.

This is a permanent full-time position, based in Ulverstone, TAS. Salary and conditions are in accordance with General Retail Award Level 6.

How you will make an impact

- Recruit, train and support volunteers and volunteer supervisors, fostering a positive team culture aligned with The Salvation Army's mission and values.

- Lead the day-to-day operations of the thrift shop, ensuring stock is sorted, priced, displayed and replenished to create an inviting customer experience.

- Drive sales growth and support budget achievement through community engagement, donor relationships and local promotional initiatives.

- Deliver excellent customer service, providing a welcoming environment, assisting customers and connecting people with appropriate Salvation Army services.

- Maintain a safe, secure and compliant workplace by overseeing WHS requirements, safety audits, cash handling procedures and store security practices.

- Manage administration and operational processes, including volunteer coordination, reporting, banking, reconciliations and compliance with organisational procedures.

What you will bring

- Demonstrated people management skills with an emphasis on volunteers and the community
- Experience in mentoring/training and managing staff
- Proven experience in retail management - ideally high-throughput
- Complete/Provide First Aid (PFA)



training and be willing to be a designated First Aid Provider when on site
- Complete Fire Warden training and be willing to be the Chief Fire Warden while onsite
- Physical ability to safely stand, sit, walk regularly and for long periods of time, push, pull, lift, carry & restrain, climb ladders
- Use eftpos machine / undertake other inherent requirements of the role
- A Valid Driver's Licence
- Working with Children's Check
