The Young Women in Construction program is a Skilling Queenslanders for Work - Get Set for Work initiative designed to support young women aged 15 to 24 who are at risk of disengaging from education, experiencing unemployment, or facing barriers that may increase their risk of involvement with the youth justice system.

Through a supportive and engaging environment, participants build confidence, resilience, life skills, and job readiness while exploring careers within the construction and trades industries. As part of the program, each participant will be enrolled in a Certificate I in Construction, gaining nationally recognised skills and industry knowledge to help prepare them for further training, apprenticeships, traineeships, and employment opportunities.

The program helps young women overcome barriers, achieve accredited training outcomes, and develop clear pathways into high-demand industries, creating brighter futures and long-term career opportunities.

A bit about the role...

As a Program Facilitator, you will provide individual mentoring and coordinate group-based workshops to support participants in overcoming barriers and achieving their personal, training, and employment goals. You will build strong relationships with community organisations, Registered Training Organisations (RTOs), employers, and industry partners to encourage participant engagement and positive outcomes.





Key responsibilities include developing individualised action plans, facilitating program activities, coordinating work experience and employment opportunities, and liaising with employers and employment service providers to identify suitable pathways for participants. You will also maintain accurate participant records and documentation, ensuring compliance with contractual, funding, and organisational requirements.

Through a participant-focused approach, you will empower individuals to build confidence, develop skills, and successfully transition into education, training, or employment.

This is a full time-fixed term, 10 months contract role based in Toowoomba.

A bit about you…

- Desirable qualifications in Social Work, Youth Work, Community Services, or VET
- 2+ years’ experience in youth engagement, mentoring, or community services
- Ability to build rapport with young people and stakeholders
- Knowledge of VET pathways and education systems
- Blue Card, National Police Check, and open driver’s licence required
