Senior Indigenous Ranger The Senior Indigenous Ranger provides leadership, guidance and operational coordination across land management, cultural heritage, conservation and community engagement activities on Country.
You will supervise and support Indigenous Rangers, coordinate day-to-day activities, allocate tasks and priorities, conduct safety briefings and help develop the capability of the ranger team. Senior Ranger Duty Statement
Key Responsibilities

- Provide day-to-day leadership, supervision and mentoring to Indigenous Rangers.
- Coordinate workloads, priorities and planned works.
- Undertake land and water management activities including weed control, pest animal monitoring, revegetation, erosion control and habitat restoration.
- Support cultural mapping and the identification, recording and monitoring of cultural sites and ecological knowledge.
- Assist with the protection, documentation and maintenance of cultural heritage sites.
- Participate in biodiversity monitoring, flora and fauna surveys and environmental data collection.
- Work with Elders and relevant authorities on culturally informed fire management and bushfire preparedness activities.
- Represent Ngambri LALC at community events,



cultural activities and education programs.
- Monitor and report environmental harm, illegal dumping or unauthorised activity.

About You You will bring strong cultural awareness, leadership skills and a genuine commitment to caring for Country. You will be comfortable working outdoors, leading a team and engaging respectfully with Traditional Owners, Elders, community members and partner organisations.
Qualifications and Experience

- Formal qualifications in Conservation and Ecosystem Management.
- Experience in land management or a ranger program.
- Current NSW or ACT Driver Licence.
- Working with Children Check.
- Working with Vulnerable People Check.
- Current First Aid Certificate, or willingness to obtain.
- Current White Card, or willingness to obtain.
- Chemical handling accreditation and chainsaw operations experience are desirable. Senior Ranger Duty Statement

Junior Ranger Program Coordinator The Junior Ranger Program Coordinator is responsible for coordinating and delivering the Yurwang Mura – Caring for Country Junior Ranger Program, a culturally grounded, school-based Indigenous Ranger program supporting First Nations students in the Queanbeyan area.

Key Responsibilities

- Coordinate and deliver culturally responsive school-based and on-Country activities.
- Plan and facilitate camps,



excursions and field trips throughout the year.
- Support students to strengthen cultural identity, school engagement and educational outcomes.
- Assist students to develop learning, training and employment pathways.
- Coordinate participation in relevant accredited training opportunities.
- Work closely with schools, Registered Training Organisations, Traditional Owners, Elders, Indigenous Ranger groups, parents and community organisations.
- Maintain accurate student participation, attendance, incident and program records.
- Complete reporting and compliance requirements associated with the NIAA Junior Rangers Project Agreement.
- Identify and manage risks associated with program activities.

About You You will have a strong understanding of Aboriginal culture, community and caring for Country, along with the ability to build positive relationships with young people and a broad range of community and education stakeholders.
You will be organised, confident coordinating activities and comfortable supporting students both in school environments and through practical on-Country learning.
