Your New Role
An exciting opportunity is available for a proactive and organised People & Culture Coordinator to join our People & Culture team in our Sydney office. This is a full-time parental leave cover role until June 2028.
Your Key Responsibilities
Working closely with the People & Culture team, you will help deliver responsive and practical services across the firm. This varied role offers hands-on experience across the employee lifecycle and the opportunity to contribute to recruitment, onboarding, employee documentation, reporting, systems and broader people initiatives.
Responsibilities will include:
- Acting as the first point of contact for People & Culture queries and managing the shared inbox, escalating complex or sensitive matters as required
- Coordinating recruitment activities, including posting job adverts, arranging interviews, candidate management, preparing documentation and completing pre-employment checks
- Coordinating onboarding and offboarding processes to provide a smooth and positive employee experience
- Preparing employment contracts, variation letters and other employee documentation accurately and within required timeframes
- Maintaining employee records and People & Culture systems, ensuring information is accurate, complete and handled confidentially
- Coordinating probation reviews, performance review activities and other key employee lifecycle processes
- Assisting with training coordination and learning and development activities
- Preparing regular reports and maintaining accurate workforce data to support People & Culture planning and decision-making
- Supporting wellbeing, engagement, recognition, staff anniversary celebrations, community initiatives and other initiatives that contribute to a positive employee experience
- Assisting with People & Culture projects, system improvements and the ongoing review of processes and documentation
- Providing general administrative support to the People & Culture team and contributing to the smooth delivery of services across the firm
Skills and Experience
To be considered for this opportunity, it is a requirement that you have:
- At least three years’ HR administration experience
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
- An eagerness to learn about and use AI tools to improve efficiency and ways of working
- A genuine interest in People & Culture
- Strong attention to detail and sound judgement
- The ability to manage competing priorities in a busy team environment
- A helpful, approachable and cooperative working style
Desirable:
- Experience in a professional services environment, ideally legal or IP
- Experience with a Human Resource Information System (HRIS), ideally ELMO
