An established manufacturing business is looking for an ambitious assistant production & operations coordinator to join its team and develop across all areas of the operation.
This is an excellent opportunity for either a young tradesperson looking to step off the tools and into management, or a recent engineering/manufacturing graduate wanting to build a career within production and operations.
Working closely with the operations manager, production manager and factory manager, you will learn the business from the ground up, gaining exposure to engineering, production, scheduling, quality and the day-to-day running of a busy manufacturing facility delivering concrete products.

The role:
Your responsibilities will develop as your knowledge of the business grows and will include:

- Reviewing engineering drawings, specifications and production requirements
- Assisting with production planning and scheduling
- Supporting the production and operations managers with day-to-day activities
- Working closely with the factory manager and production teams
- Helping coordinate labour, materials and production priorities
- Monitoring jobs through the manufacturing process
- Assisting with quality and specification checks
- Identifying and helping resolve production issues and bottlenecks
- Liaising with engineering, production, logistics and other departments




- Learning each stage of the manufacturing process and how the wider business operates

About You:
You may be a qualified tradesperson looking for your first opportunity to move towards supervision and management, or a recent graduate from an engineering, manufacturing or similar technical discipline.
More importantly, you will be:

- Technically minded with the ability to understand drawings and specifications
- Organised and able to manage multiple priorities
- Comfortable working both in the office and on the factory floor
- Confident communicating with tradespeople, engineers and management
- Curious and willing to learn from experienced people across the business
- A practical problem solver
- Ambitious and looking for a genuine long-term career prospect

Previous manufacturing or production experience would be advantageous but is not essential for the right person.

The Opportunity:
This isn't a role where you'll be stuck doing the same task every day.
The aim is to develop someone who understands how the entire operation works, from engineering drawings and production planning through to manufacturing, quality and delivery.
You'll work alongside experienced managers, learn from tradespeople on the factory floor and gradually take on greater responsibility as your knowledge develops.
