Far North Petroleum Services is a Cairns-based company that maintains and upgrades bulk fuel systems at power stations and fuel facilities across remote Queensland, including the Gulf, Cape York and the Torres Strait. We're looking for reliable, hands-on Trades Assistants for work in our Cairns workshop and on remote sites.
WHAT THE WORK INVOLVES
- Assisting in our Cairns workshop with fabrication ahead of site works
- Assisting tradespeople on site with maintenance and upgrades on fuel tanks, pipework and fittings
- Loading, unloading and moving materials and equipment
- Site set-up and clean-up
ESSENTIAL
- Working at Heights
- Confined Space Entry
- Current driver's licence
- Construction White Card
- Confidence using power tools and hand tools
- Good physical fitness as the work is hands-on and often outdoors in the heat
- Strong safety attitude
- Willing to travel and stay on site for remote jobs
HIGHLY REGARDED
- Forklift licence

ABOUT THE HOURS
This is casual, project-based work. We're currently manufacturing in our Cairns workshop, heading into a busy period of remote site work before Christmas. Remote trip lengths vary from job to job. Work will pause over Christmas and New Year and possibly through the wet season, with works expected to resume around February depending on weather.
