Fashion Thrift Society is a growing events business bringing together vintage sellers, small businesses, creatives and fashion lovers through large-scale pre-loved fashion events across Australia and internationally.
Community is at the heart of FTS. We create fun, inclusive events where people can shop differently, discover independent sellers and connect through a shared love of fashion.
Behind the events, we’re a small, collaborative and fast-moving team. Everyone gets involved, contributes ideas and plays a part in creating great experiences for our vendors and customers.
About the Role
We’re looking for a highly organised, confident and outgoing Junior Event Coordinator to join our Collingwood team.
This is predominantly an office-based role, with most of your time focused on the planning and administration that makes our events happen. You’ll work across spreadsheets, vendor bookings, emails, floor plans, schedules, suppliers and event logistics.
On event weekends, you’ll switch from planning behind the scenes to being a front-facing member of the FTS team. You’ll work directly with vendors, customers, venues and suppliers, helping ensure the event runs smoothly from bump-in through to bump-out.
The ideal person will enjoy both sides of the role: detailed organisation during the week and the fast-paced, social environment of event days.
What You’ll Be Doing
Managing event spreadsheets, databases and documentation
Coordinating vendor applications, bookings and allocations
Managing event emails and communications
Assisting with floor plans, schedules, run sheets and checklists
Coordinating suppliers, contractors and event services
Tracking deadlines and following up outstanding information
Organising signage, equipment and event materials
Assisting with event travel and logistics
Supporting the Event Manager with event planning and delivery
Assisting with bump-in, event operations and bump-out
Supporting vendors and customers on event days
Completing post-event administration and reporting
Regular travel is an essential part of this position.
You’ll attend a minimum of one FTS event per month for approximately 10 months of the year, with some months involving multiple events.
Our events take place across Australia, so you’ll need to be available for interstate and regional travel, overnight stays and weekend work. Event weekends can include early starts, long days on your feet and travel outside standard office hours.
Approved work travel and accommodation are covered by FTS, with time in lieu applying to approved additional hours in accordance with company policy and applicable workplace requirements.
About You
We’re looking for someone who:
Is highly organised with excellent attention to detail
Is confident working with spreadsheets and online systems
Enjoys administration and keeping information accurate
Has strong written and verbal communication skills
Can manage multiple deadlines and priorities
Is proactive, reliable and takes ownership of their work
Has an outgoing, friendly and approachable personality
Is confident communicating with vendors, customers and suppliers
Stays calm and solutions-focused in a busy environment
Works well independently and as part of a team
Is available for regular weekend work and interstate travel
Previous experience or study in events, event management, administration, hospitality or a related field is highly regarded.
More importantly, we’re looking for someone who genuinely wants to build a career in events. This role is ideal for someone at the beginning of their events career who is eager to learn, take on more responsibility and grow with the business.
You may be a recent events graduate, currently working in an event support or administration role, or have hands‑on experience through festivals, markets, hospitality, venues or similar environments.
An interest in events, fashion, vintage and the circular economy is a bonus.
This is a junior position with the opportunity to develop your event management skills through hands‑on experience across both event planning and delivery.
As FTS continues to grow, we want our team to grow with us. For the right person, there is scope to take on greater responsibility, manage more aspects of events independently and progress into Event Coordinator and more senior event roles over time.
What We Offer
Full‑time position based in Collingwood
Regular work travel across Australia
Work travel and accommodation covered
Time in lieu for approved additional event and travel hours
Genuine opportunity for professional development and career progression
Exposure to both event planning and on‑the‑ground delivery
Opportunity to grow within an expanding Australian and international events business
A team-oriented team and growing creative and vendor community
