The Cook and Baker in Bondi Junction is looking for a casual Kitchen Assistant to join our busy and friendly kitchen team.

This role is ideal for a school leaver or someone starting out in hospitality , with full training provided.

About the Role

Working closely with our Head Chef and kitchen team , you’ll assist with various kitchen tasks including:

Dishwashing

Preparing pastry ingredients, dough mixes, and other ingredients

Finishing and presenting goods baked by the Head Chef

Supporting other daily kitchen prep to keep service running smoothly

About You

We’re looking for someone who:

Is a reliable team player with a positive attitude

Works efficiently and pays attention to detail

Is committed to food safety and hygiene standards (training provided)





Is punctual and comfortable with early starts

Casual role , min 8 hours per week up to 30 hours (for the right person)

Due to early start times, this role is best suited to someone who can reliably arrive at work by 4:00am (having a car is an advantage due to limited public transport at that time)

Pay Rates

Monday – Friday rate: $24.34 per hour

Increased rates on Saturdays and Sundays

No extensive experience is required — most training will be provided . What matters most is a strong work ethic, willingness to learn, and pride in producing outstanding food.
