We support Autistic and neurodivergent teenagers to build confidence, independence, social connection, and everyday life skills.

We’re looking for calm, reliable, and down-to-earth Support Workers who understand Autism and genuinely enjoy connecting with young people.

This role may be a great fit if you have experience supporting Autistic young people, lived experience of neurodivergence , or you’re studying psychology, teaching, occupational therapy, social work, youth work, counselling, allied health, or community services.

The Role

You’ll work one-on-one with Autistic and neurodivergent teens, building a consistent relationship around their individual goals, strengths, and interests.

Support may include:

- Community outings and activities
- Building confidence and independence
- Social connection and communication
- Routines, planning, and everyday life skills
- Emotional regulation and co-regulation
- Exploring hobbies and interests
- Mentoring and positive role modelling

Sometimes the most valuable part of the role is simply being someone a young person trusts and enjoys spending time with.

Shifts





Most support takes place outside school hours:

- Weekday afternoons
- Regular ongoing participant matches

We match workers and participants based on personality, interests, location, availability, and experience .

- Have lived experience of neurodivergence
- Are studying a relevant field
- Are calm, patient, and reliable
- Naturally connect with teenagers
- Are good at building rapport
- Respect different communication styles and sensory needs
- Can provide structure without being controlling
- Lived experience is welcomed and valued, but not required.

Requirements

- First Aid & CPR
- Working with Children Check
- National Police Check
- NDIS Worker Orientation Module
- Full Driver’s Licence
- Reliable, insured vehicle
- NDIS Worker Screening Check, or willingness to obtain
