IBG is recruiting a Safety Advisor for a major transport infrastructure client supporting the operation and maintenance of critical road assets across Sydney.

n

The role provides professional health and safety advice and support to operational teams across a live TfNSW road setting, working on the development, implementation, monitoring and continuous improvement of the H&S; Management System. It includes a rostered night shift safety support component on a monthly basis.

Key Accountabilities n

n
- Provide specialist, hands-on H&S; advice, coaching and support to operational teams
n
- Assist in the development, implementation and continuous improvement of H&S; policies, standards, procedures and management plans
n
- Complete incident and injury investigations using recognised methodologies and root cause analysis
n
- Track corrective actions and facilitate the sharing of lessons learned
n
- Conduct workplace inspections, audits and assurance activities, including regular H&S; plant inspections across company and subcontractor plant
n
- Coordinate plant onboarding - liaising with contractors on plant numbers, scheduling site visits, and reporting on onboarding progress
n
- Support compliance with legislative, regulatory and contractual requirements
n
- Assist in identifying, assessing and controlling workplace hazards and risks
n
- Support return-to-work and injury management processes as requiredCollect,



monitor and analyse safety performance data, including leading and lagging indicators, trends and reporting
n
- Deliver inductions, toolbox talks, training programs and coaching to employees, supervisors and contractors
n
- Support the use and improvement of safety management systems and reporting platforms
n
- Deliver rostered night shift safety support on a monthly basis
n

About You nn
- Certificate IV in Work Health & Safety and/or a Diploma or tertiary qualification in OH&S;, plus relevant industry experience
n
- Current driver's licence
n
- Incident investigation qualification (ICAM or equivalent) highly regarded
n
- Internal or Lead Auditor training highly regarded
n
- 3-5 years' experience in a safety, HSE or operational risk role
n
- Experience in road asset maintenance, road infrastructure, civil works or a comparable live operational environment
n
- Proven experience engaging with frontline staff, supervisors, managers, clients and regulatory authorities
n
- Experience conducting workplace inspections, audits and investigations
n
- Working knowledge of WHS legislation and risk management principles
n
- Strong analytical, report writing and stakeholder engagement skills
n
- Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Office skills (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)
n
- Willingness and ability to work rostered night shift as required
n
