About the Role:

n

The Finance Manager - Retail (Australia & New Zealand) provides timely, accurate financial information, commercial advice and analysis to support sound decision-making across the Retail businesses.

n

The role leads budgeting, forecasting, reporting, financial control and business partnering, while supporting senior management to identify trends, manage risk and improve performance.

n

Key Accountabilities & Responsibilities

n

As the recent Finance Manager - Retail (AU & NZ), you will:

n

Collect, interpret and review financial information for the Retail Australia and New Zealand businesses.

n

Lead annual budgeting, business planning and structured and ad-hoc forecasting processes.

n

Deliver regular, timely and accurate management reporting, performance analysis and advice to management and stakeholders.

n

Provide active commercial support on marketing initiatives, franchise activity, client proposals, contracts, leases and operational decisions.

n

Identify financial trends, risks and opportunities, and support leaders to develop appropriate responses.

n

Oversee the integrity of general ledger and finance systems,



including relevant interfaces and source systems.

n

Manage month-end close, balance sheet reconciliations, financial controls and follow-up of outstanding items.

n

Support Group consolidation, Head Office reporting and ad-hoc analysis as required.

n

Ensure local compliance and follow-up for indirect taxes, including GST, FBT and other applicable obligations.

n

Coordinate year-end and tax year-end controls and support subsidiary tax return processes with Group Finance and external advisers.

n

Provide day-to-day accounting support to Retail teams and drive continuous improvement across finance processes and systems.

n

Ensure appropriate team capability and resourcing, manage direct reports and mentor staff undertaking professional qualifications.

About You

n

In order to be successful for this role,



the ideal candidate will possess:

n

Tertiary qualification in finance, accounting or commerce.

n

Professional accounting qualification, or progress toward one, is desirable.

n

Finance management, management accounting or commercial finance experience.

n

Strong analytical skills and the ability to interpret complex financial information.

n

Commercial and business awareness with sound judgement and a proactive approach to risk.

n

Effective problem-solving, forecasting, budgeting and financial reporting capability.

n

Excellent written and verbal communication, with the ability to influence and build solid working relationships.

n

High attention to detail, curiosity to probe data and commitment to deadlines.

n

Leadership, coaching and team-management capability.

n

Experience with general ledger, consolidation and travel-industry finance systems is advantageous.
