Join Victoria's Overall Hotel of the Year

The Grand Hotel Warrandyte is seeking an experienced Senior Chef de Partie / Qualified Chef to join our growing kitchen team.

Fresh off being awarded Overall Hotel of the Year (Metro) and Heart of the Community at the AHA Victoria Awards, The Grand continues to grow, with multiple kitchen operations including our Bistro, Italian Kitchen, Kiosk and a thriving functions business.

We are looking for a passionate chef who wants to be part of a positive team culture, work with quality ingredients and develop their career within one of Victoria's busiest hospitality venues.

Unlike many venues, we don't operate under a traditional Head Chef structure. Our kitchen is built around collaboration, shared responsibility and teamwork. You'll work alongside an experienced leadership group where ideas are encouraged, support is always available, and the success of the kitchen doesn't rest on one person's shoulders. We believe great kitchens are built by strong teams, not individuals, creating an environment where chefs can develop, contribute and enjoy coming to work.

Key Responsibilities

Preparation and service of your section

Running a section efficiently in a fast-paced environment

Leading by example during service

Assisting with functions and events

Training and supporting apprentice and junior chefs

Maintaining food safety and cleanliness standards

Contributing ideas for specials and menu development

Maintaining a clean and organised workstation

What We're Looking For

Qualified Chef with relevant trade qualifications

Minimum 3 years' experience in a similar role

Robust grill experience is essential

Ability to confidently run a grill section in a high-volume environment

Experience mentoring and supporting junior team members

A team player with strong communication skills

Passion for delivering high-quality food

Reliability, organisation and attention to detail

A positive attitude and willingness to learn
