Desi Holdings Pty Ltd T/a The Spice Hut, located at Shop 7/1 Edwards Tce, Baringa QLD 4551, is currently seeking an experienced Cook to join their team in a full time role working 38 hours per week.

Duties and Responsibilities n

n
- Preparing and cooking a variety of Indian dishes according to the restaurant's menu and food preparation requirements.
n
- Weighing, measuring and mixing ingredients according to food preparation requirements and cooking methods.
n
- Assisting with menu planning.
n
- Preparing, seasoning and combining ingredients to achieve the required flavour, texture and consistency.
n
- Monitoring and adjusting cooking temperatures of kitchen equipment to ensure food is cooked safely and to the required standard.
n
- Ensuring proper storage of marinated items, prepared food and raw materials in accordance with FIFO (First-In-First-Out) procedures and secure food handling practices.
n




- Preparing dishes in accordance with special dietary requirements, including vegetarian, vegan and allergen-sensitive options.
n
- Checking the freshness and quality of ingredients before and during food preparation.
n
- Portioning, plating and garnishing dishes in accordance with the restaurant's presentation standards.
n
- Assisting junior kitchen staff.
n
- Maintaining workplace hygiene, food safety and occupational health and safety standards in accordance with Australian requirements.
n

Applicants must demonstrate one year of experience in a similar role and relevant Australian Qualification.

A salary between $79,500 - $82,500 will be offered to the successful candidate. An immediate start is available.
