The Category Manager plays a key role in driving category performance, strengthening grower and customer relationships, and delivering sustainable business growth. Job Description

Key responsibilities include:

- Managing the commercial performance and profitability of assigned product categories.
- Building and maintaining strong relationships with growers, suppliers, and key customers.
- Negotiating pricing, supply agreements, and other commercial arrangements.
- Identifying and implementing opportunities to drive category growth and improve margins.
- Monitoring market trends, availability, and pricing to support informed decision-making.
- Supporting forecasting, procurement, and supply planning activities.




- Collaborating with Quality and Operations teams to ensure product and service standards are maintained.
- Analysing category performance and providing insights and recommendations to support business objectives.

Desired Skills and Experience

About You
You're an experienced fresh produce skilled who combines strong commercial acumen with exceptional relationship-building skills.

We're Looking For:

- 5+ years' experience in a successful Sales Representative, Account Management, Category Management or leadership role within the fresh produce industry
- Strong commercial, negotiation, and business development skills
- Solid understanding of fresh produce seasonality and supply chain requirements
- Experience managing grower, supplier, and customer relationships
- Ability to analyse performance data and turn insights into action
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
- Highly organised with the ability to prioritise in a fast-moving environment

Qualifications

- Tertiary qualification in Business, Commerce, Agriculture or a related discipline (highly regarded).
