We’re looking for an experienced Finance leader to join us as Group Commercial & Finance Manager at a genuinely exciting stage in the Group’s evolution.

n

Reporting to the Group CEO and as one of six members of our Executive Leadership Team, you’ll lead Finance across Salco Group and its entities while playing a key role in the commercial decisions that shape the business.

Working closely with our Group CEO and fellow executives, you’ll join an experienced, approachable leadership team and a business with a clear next stage ahead.

A considered financial and commercial perspective will be central to the role — helping test, shape and strengthen opportunities through challenge, analysis, risk assessment and clear recommendations.

The Role n

Core responsibility sits across reporting and analysis, budgeting and forecasting, cash flow, tax, banking, financial controls, governance, compliance and financial risk — providing clear financial assurance to the Group CEO, owners and Board.

You’ll lead the Finance function, with Payroll & Compliance also reporting into the role.

n

Executive contribution extends beyond the core Finance remit into commercial modelling, business cases, investment analysis, performance reporting and financial evaluation of significant opportunities.

This includes financial input into retail property strategy, lease decisions, store openings and refurbishments, concessions, shop-in-shops, partner environments and other major commercial investments.

Financial reporting and analysis across the Group

Budgeting, forecasting and cash flow management

Year-end, tax and statutory requirements

Banking relationships, financial controls, governance, review and assurance

n

Leadership and development of the Finance function

n

Oversight of Payroll & Compliance

n

Executive financial reporting and decision support

n

Commercial modelling and business case development

n

Investment analysis and financial evaluation of major opportunities

n

Commercial performance reporting and strategic financial analysis

n

Financial analysis supporting property, leasing and store investment decisions

n

Financial oversight and analysis supporting shared services and strategic partnerships

n

Trusted financial and commercial advice to the Group CEO and Executive Leadership Team

About You n

An experienced Finance leader, you’ll bring genuine technical depth and a track record of leading a strong Finance function.

n

Reporting, year-end, tax, cash flow, controls and governance will be established parts of your experience, along with leading and developing a Finance team.

n





Solid retail experience will also matter, together with a clear appreciation of how the commercial drivers connect — customers, stock, margin, stores, shopping centres, trading performance and the external retail environment.

n

Comfort moving between detailed financial matters and broader commercial discussions will be important, as will the ability to contribute constructively as part of a small leadership team.

n

Sound judgement, constructive challenge, discretion and follow-through will matter, along with the ability to build trust across the business.

Location n

Our Head Office is based in Tullamarine. The role will suit someone based in Melbourne’s north-west, or with a straightforward commute to the area.

The successful candidate will be required to complete a pre-employment Drug and Alcohol screen and Victoria Police Check, and must have full working rights in Australia.
