Kincoppal-Rose Bay School of the Sacred Heart, founded in 1882, is a leading Catholic Independent Day and Boarding School located in Sydney's Eastern Suburbs. The School is co-educational ELC-6, and girls only 7-12.

We are inviting applications for the position of Head of Counselling / Clinical Psychologist commencing in Term 1, 2027. The Head of Counselling holds overall responsibility and accountability for psychological services delivered to students at KRB, as well as leading the development of strategic progress in this area. Leading a small team and sharing the operational student caseload, the role works with other School Leaders to develop and implement proactive initiatives to enhance student wellbeing and respond to emerging trends and issues.

The role:

- Lead the strategic development and delivery of mental health and wellbeing initiatives across K–12 day and boarding programs
- Provide expert counseling, assessment, intervention and case management support for students, families and staff, including urgent and critical incident responses
- Partner with pastoral, boarding and school leadership teams to advise on student wellbeing, behaviour support, safeguarding and child protection matters
- Develop and deliver education, training and resources for key stakeholders in areas such as child protection, positive psychology, pastoral care and student wellbeing
- Maintain professional records and collaborate with external agencies and allied health professionals to ensure coordinated support for students
- In collaboration with a team, review, develop and implement relevant policies, procedures and guidelines to support consistent, evidence-informed practice across student wellbeing, counselling,



safeguarding and child protection.

The ideal candidate:

- Fully qualified and registered Psychologist, with relevant experience working with children and adolescents, preferably in an educational setting
- Experience providing psychological intervention to children, adolescents and their families within a systemic therapeutic framework
- Demonstrated experience designing, implementing and evaluating proactive wellbeing initiatives
- Sound understanding of contemporary issues, research and emerging trends in child and adolescent psychology
- Advanced knowledge of child protection legislation, safeguarding obligations and best-practice approaches
- Demonstrated experience leading, supporting and developing a professional team
- Current Working With Children Check
- Ability to model the five goals of Sacred Heart Education in interactions with students, staff, and parents.
