Champion Bay Senior High School (CBSHS) are seeking to appoint a skilled teacher with a passion for guiding young people, a positive spirit and a knack for building positive relationships to join their student services team to support students and staff with a comprehensive range of interventions and supports.

The Role

We seek a highly motivated,



relationship-focused teacher who is focussed on creating caring and exciting learning environments that supports staff and students to be their best selves.

In this role, you will ideally build and maintain rapport and positive relationships with students and staff from years 7 to 12. As the Students at Academic Risk Teacher, you will ideally work with school leaders to develop connected and tiered systems, using data to plan universal, targeted and intensive supports in learning, wellbeing and behaviour that consider the needs of all students.

The successful applicant will ideally identify a need, design or source and deliver programs or workshops to suit that need. They should participate in and advise on the effectiveness of Tier 1, 2 and 3 interventions strategies/programs and confidently case manage students requiring Tier 2 or Tier 3 interventions.

The ideal, successful applicant would:

- Support the enrolment, re-entry and/or engagement agency processes for students
- Conduct home visits as required to assist with student planning and attendance (badged attendance officer)
- Oversee the student leadership program in years 7 to 12
- Respond to requests for behaviour support as needed
- Oversee and/or support special events and whole school positive wellbeing events such as RUOK day and good standing events
- Complete excursion, incursion and event paperwork
- Provide assembly support in consultation with Student Services staff
- Be adaptable to complete other duties as determined in consultation with the relevant associate principal or student services manager.

Mobility appointments for permanent metropolitan and south west teachers

Eligible permanent teachers who hold a substantive teaching position in a North or South Education Region school, or a South West Education Region school* may elect to undertake this role as a 3-year mobility appointment, with a right of return to their substantive position. At the cessation of the 3-year mobility appointment, teachers can elect to return to their substantive role, or transfer permanently into this school.
