Elias Rosenberg is a well-established accounting practice based in Malvern East. Our 12-person team provides high-quality accounting, tax and advisory services to a diverse range of clients.

We're looking for a Senior SMSF Accountant to take ownership of a portfolio of SMSF clients, managing the full year-end compliance process from start to finish, including client and auditor liaison.

You'll work alongside another SMSF accountant, with each of you responsible for managing your own jobs from start to finish.

Key responsibilities

Manage a portfolio of SMSF clients and the full year-end compliance process, including reconciliations, investment reporting and member statements.

Prepare SMSF financial statements and annual returns using BGL Simple Fund 360.

Liaise with SMSF auditors and respond to audit queries.

Identify and address technical issues relating to contributions, pension payments, in-house assets and related-party transactions, and communicate relevant compliance requirements to trustees.

Deal directly with clients and their advisers.

About you





At least 5 years' SMSF accounting experience in public practice, with the ability to manage a portfolio independently from start to finish.

Strong, hands-on experience with BGL Simple Fund 360.

Solid working knowledge of the SIS Act, SMSF tax and pension rules.

Confidence dealing directly with clients, trustees and advisers.

The ability to explain technical issues clearly and in plain English.

Strong attention to detail and excellent organisational skills.

Software experience

BGL Simple Fund 360 is essential.

Robust Excel and Word skills are expected.

Xero Practice Manager and FYI Docs are advantageous.
