Building Cadet – Kickstart Your Project Management Career

Location: South Coast, Berry

Full-Time – Monday to Friday, 7:30 AM to 3:00 PM

ABOUT THE ROLE

As a Building Cadet , you'll gain hands‑on site experience, learning directly from experienced Project Managers. You’ll be exposed to bothsite supervision and project coordination – the perfect foundation for a long‑term career in construction project management.

This is an entry‑level role, ideal for:

- Someone with a trade background looking to move into project management, or

- A recent graduate or current student in Building and Construction Management

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

- Assist in site supervision – ensuring contractor works are on schedule and to spec

- Monitor and document Work Health & Safety (WHS) compliance

- Coordinate contractors and suppliers to meet deadlines and budgets

- Support financial tracking, identifying project risks and opportunities





- Learn the ins and outs of contract management and full project lifecycles

- Monitor project progress and prepare regular reports for the Project Manager.

- Conduct quality inspections and ensure that any defects are corrected

- Enforce safety protocols and ensure a safe working workplace for both workers, sub‑contractors, clients and residents.

- Conduct weekly site inspections and audits in Rapid Inductto ensure compliance with safety and health regulations.

REQUIREMENTS

A trade qualification and is looking to transition into site supervision or project management, OR

A Diploma or bachelor's degree in construction project management (or similar field).

Additional Requirements:

- Valid work rights in Australia

- Valid driver’s license

- Ability to obtain Police Clearance, WWAC and WWCC

- Construction white card
