Protective Security and Facilities Support Officer

As a Protective Security and Facilities Officer , you will support the day-to-day security, facilities, and workplace operations of the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions (Cth) (CDPP ).
The role requires you to be responsive and organised, with the ability to manage competing requests, identify issues and take appropriate action within established policies and procedures.
You will work closely with staff across the CDPP and external service providers to ensure our workplace remains safe, secure, functional, and fit for purpose.
What will you bring?
You will bring experience in one or more of the following specialisations: security, facilities, property, workplace services, or a similar operational workplace. An interest in and willingness to learn aspects of this role you are not already familiar with, will be required.In this role you must have:
- the ability to coordinate day-to-day facilities and security activities;
- expertise to assess issues, resolve routine problems and escape matters when required;
- confidence in maintaining accurate records, registers, and systems;
- a practical approach to customer service and responding to workplace requests;
- an understanding of workplace safety, security, and compliance requirements; and
- capacity to work independently while contributing effectively to a small team.

- able to work across a range of operational priorities, respond calmly to issues and provide a professional service to staff, contractors, and other stakeholders; and
- able to demonstrate sound judgement, attention to detail and a willingness to identify improvements to security and facilities processes.
You will also understand the importance of confidentiality, security and following established procedures when dealing with sensitive workplace matters therefore previous experience in an APS department, facilities, property, or regulated environment will be highly regarded.

The key duties of the position include:
Reporting to the Enabling Services Manager, (who may be located in another office), the primary outcomes and accountabilities will involve:
- understand and execute daily security operations in alignment with the CDPP’s risk appetite and the Protective Security Policy Framework (PSPF);
- manage the Group mailbox;
- administration of security accounts and supplier services;
- track building maintenance cycles to minimise operational disruption or compliance failures;
- liaise with external stakeholders (security & facilities) to coordinate routine security and property maintenance inspections;
- management of local building issues and enquiries;
- fault reporting and liaising with our external service providers;
- maintain accurate logs of all security incidents, and security maintenance issues;
- provision of security access and escorting contractors;
- administration and management of local fleet vehicles as required;
- contract and procurement administration;
- contribution to, or support for larger projects;
- assist with administration of external mail and courier services;
- general administrative tasks and additional duties as required; and
- meeting the Integrated Leadership System profile of the APS 4 work level standards.
Eligibility
- The ability to obtain and maintain an AGSVA Baseline clearance is required
- Australian Citizenship
Highly desirable
- Valid Driver’s Licence.
- Demonstrated experience in physical security, access control, or emergency response preferably within APS.
- Experience operating electronic security systems (access control software etc).
- Capability to interpret requirements set out in the Protective Security Policy Framework (PSPF).
- Experience in facilities management, property operations, or general office administration within APS.
- Capability to coordinate trade services, contractors, and routine building maintenance.
