Speech Pathologist | Not-For-Profit | 9-Day Fortnight + $15.9K Salary Packaging
Build your Speech Pathology career in a specialised early intervention service supporting children who are hard of hearing across Queensland.
Based in Townsville, you’ll work primarily with children aged 0-6 years, completing initial assessments and providing early intervention and ongoing monitoring following diagnosis. Services are delivered from the clinic and via telehealth across Queensland through a Department of Health contract.

Open to New Graduates through to experienced Speech Pathologists , with structured clinical support,
flexible working arrangements and the opportunity to develop your skills in a specialised area of paediatric practice.

Why You’ll Love this Role:
- Specialised Paediatric Caseload: Work predominantly with children aged 0-6 years who are hard of hearing, with a clinical focus on speech, sounds and AUSLAN.
- Assessment & Early Intervention: Conduct initial assessments following diagnosis and provide early intervention and ongoing monitoring as children develop.
- Exceptional New Graduate Support: Start with weekly 1:1 supervision and spend your first month work shadowing under an Allied Health Assistant model, with no billable work. From there, your caseload will gradually increase as you develop your clinical skills and confidence.
- Experienced Clinical Team: Work alongside two Senior Speech Pathologists, two Allied Health Assistants and Teachers of the Deaf who complete assessments and develop plans for families.
- Family-Focused Practice: Build longer-term relationships with families, with opportunities to participate in family mentorship programs, family engagement events and family coaching, including work across bilingual and cultural contexts.
- Adaptable Working Arrangements: Tuesday to Thursday are the core client-facing days, while Monday and Friday can be worked from home for administration or telehealth. Flexible start and finish times are available around client needs.
- Flexible Employment Options: Full-time, part-time, a 9-day fortnight or 0.8 arrangements are available.
- Ongoing Clinical Support: Access fortnightly or monthly supervision with a Senior Occupational Therapist or Speech Pathologist, alongside fortnightly clinical team meetings and regular engagement meetings.
- Annual Team Connection: Each January, clinicians come together in Brisbane for three days of team planning, engagement and team-building activities.

Requirements:
- Tertiary qualification in Speech Pathology
- SPA membership
