TheGreat Ocean Road Coast and Parks Authority is responsible for protecting and managing one of Australia’s most iconic coastal landscapes. We care for parks, reserves and marine environments along the Great Ocean Road, including internationally recognised visitor sites. Working closely with Traditional Owners, communities and stakeholders, we protect environmental, cultural and heritage values while supporting sustainable visitation and long‑term conservation.

About the role

Join the Great Ocean Road Coast and Parks Authority and play a key leadership role at the beautiful Kennett River Family Caravan Park. As the Caravan Park Leading Hand, you will lead the day‑to‑day activities of the grounds and maintenance team, ensuring the park remains safe, welcoming and maintained to a high standard for visitors year‑round.

This is a hands‑on leadership position that combines team supervision with practical grounds, landscaping and maintenance work. You'll work closely with park management to coordinate daily operations, maintain assets and facilities, and contribute to an outstanding guest experience in one of Victoria's most iconic coastal locations.

What you'll do

- Supervise and coordinate the daily work of grounds and maintenance staff.
- Deliver daily work allocations, safety briefings and on‑site support to team members.
- Maintain park grounds through mowing, pruning,



weed control, planting, irrigation and landscaping activities.
- Undertake general maintenance and handyman duties across park facilities, amenities, cabins, equipment and infrastructure.
- Coordinate maintenance schedules, inspections and repairs for plant, equipment and assets.
- Support construction, revegetation and improvement projects throughout the park.
- Liaise with visitors, contractors and community stakeholders in a professional and helpful manner.
- Monitor and promote safe work practices, risk management and compliance requirements.
- Assist with customer enquiries, maintenance requests and after‑hours call‑outs when required.
- Contribute to maintaining the high presentation standards expected across the park.

Desired Skills and Experience

What we're looking for

- Trade qualification, diploma or relevant experience in grounds maintenance, land management or facilities maintenance.
- Demonstrated experience leading or supervising a small team.
- Strong practical skills in grounds maintenance, landscaping and general maintenance.
- Experience operating equipment, machinery and power tools safely and effectively.
- Chainsaw qualifications and a current First Aid Certificate.
- Safe Chemical Use certificate is desirable.
- Solid communication,



organisation and problem‑solving skills.
- Commitment to workplace safety and environmental best practice.
- Work in a spectacular coastal location along the Great Ocean Road.
