Broken Hill Base Hospital & Health Services is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse to join its Intensive Care Unit on a contract basis. This eight-week placement, commencing 14 September 2026, offers the opportunity to deliver high-acuity care in a dynamic critical care environment. Based in Broken Hill, NSW, this role is ideal for a clinician looking to make an immediate impact in a busy ICU setting.

- Deliver direct patient care in a high-acuity ICU environment with exposure to ventilated patients and complex clinical presentations
- Eight-week contract placement with flexibility and the chance to work alongside an experienced critical care team
- Based in Broken Hill, NSW, with the opportunity to contribute to essential healthcare services in regional Australia

Preferred Requirements





- Demonstrated ICU nursing experience with proven competency in managing ventilated patients
- Current Advanced Life Support (ALS) certification
- Competency in ventilator management and monitoring of critically ill patients
- Strong clinical assessment skills and the ability to respond effectively in a rapid-paced critical care setting
- Current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse with an unrestricted licence

Preferred Qualifications

- Bachelor of Nursing or equivalent, with current AHPRA registration
- Post-graduate qualification or demonstrated experience in critical care nursing
- Additional certifications in intensive care (e.g. CICM or equivalent) are advantageous
