About the opportunity

CMI Toyota is looking for our next group of Apprentice Technician (Mechanic) to join our iconic company starting in February 2027. This is your chance to join a well-run workshop with strong leaders, good people around you, and the opportunity to build a long-term career in the trade. You’ll receive exclusive training at our in-house state-of-the-art training centre, located at our modern dealership on West Terrace in the city, with additional on-the-job training also provided.

Your new role

As an Apprentice Technician, no two days will be the same. But here’s just some of what you’ll be doing:

- Completing your trade certificate to become a light vehicle technician
- Learning the principles of service, repair and maintenance for a variety of vehicles
- Training on manufacturer, customer service and CMI Toyota standards
- Understanding how to provide the highest level of workmanship

Most importantly, you’ll be working as part of a broader workshop team where quality, safety and teamwork matter.

- Industry leading training over and above the minimum standard
- Daily support from experienced colleagues and leaders
- A clean, well-equipped workshop designed for safety and productivity
- Set hours with predictable rosters




- Overtime opportunities available if you want them

About you To help you start your successful career as an automotive technician, you’ll:

- Have completed at least Year 11 and/or Cert II in Automotive Servicing Technology
- Possess a good mechanical aptitude and an interest in learning more
- Be able to demonstrate a high level of attention to detail
- Demonstrate a friendly, positive, and can-do attitude
- Have a current manual and auto drivers’ licence (essential)
