About the Traineeship

Are you finishing school, recently graduated, or looking to kick-start your career in engineering and design?

Hort Enterprises is seeking a motivated and enthusiastic individual to join their Orange team as an Engineering Drafting Trainee.

This opportunity is ideal for someone with an interest in engineering, design, technology, maths and computers who would like to develop a practical career within the engineering industry.

Working alongside experienced staff, you’ll gain practical exposure to engineering drafting, CAD software, detailed drawings, site scoping, measuring and 3D laser scanning while developing valuable technical and workplace skills. The successful candidate will complete a Certificate IV in Engineering Drafting.

What You’ll Learn

This traineeship is all about learning on the job, gaining real experience and building skills you can take with you throughout your career.

With support from experienced professionals, you’ll:





- Prepare detailed engineering drawings using industry-standard CAD software
- Understand steelwork fabrication and machining processes
- Assist with customer site scoping and taking precise measurements
- Utilise modern 3D laser scanning technology
- Apply Microsoft Office programs and specialised CAD systems
- Gain practical mechanical knowledge and collaborating closely with design professionals
