About the Role
We are seeking an organised and detail-focused Accounts Officer to join our Finance team on a full-time basis. Working closely with the Head of Accounts, you will support the day-to-day finance operations of multiple Group entities, with responsibilities across accounts payable, accounts receivable and general financial administration.
This role will suit someone who is dependable, methodical and comfortable following established processes while maintaining a high standard of accuracy. Full training and ongoing support will be provided to help you become familiar with our systems and procedures.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable across multiple Group entities.
- Process and code supplier invoices in Xero and ApprovalMax, including managing approval workflows and preparing payments.
- Prepare and process mid-month and end-of-month supplier payments.
- Monitor customer accounts and follow up outstanding payments professionally.
- Complete bank and credit card reconciliations in Xero, investigating and resolving unreconciled transactions.
- Code transactions accurately to the correct accounts and entities,
applying the appropriate GST treatment.
- Prepare manual and ad hoc customer invoices.
- Monitor customer credit scores and credit limits, and process credit applications for new customers and suppliers.
- Maintain accurate supplier, customer and financial records, including attaching supporting documents in Xero.
- Assist the Head of Accounts with month-end activities.
- Maintain organised financial records and filing systems.
- Undertake other finance and administrative duties as required.
About You To be successful in this role, you will have:
- A minimum of three years’ accounts processing experience in a similar role.
- Experience using both MYOB and Xero is essential for this role.
- Strong Microsoft Excel skills and an analytical approach to problem-solving.
- Strong computer literacy and the ability to learn new systems quickly.
- SharePoint experience, which is highly advantageous.
- Excellent organisational and administrative skills.
- A high level of accuracy and attention to detail, strong written and verbal communication skills.
- The ability to manage competing priorities and fluctuating workloads in a rapid-paced, evolving environment.
- A proactive, solutions-focused approach and a positive “can-do” attitude.
- A strong sense of accountability and the ability to meet deadlines.
- A genuine commitment to providing helpful and professional support.
- Excellent interpersonal, relationship-building and collaboration skills.
Pay: $70,000.00 – $80,000.00 per year
