Administration & Events Officer - Northern Adelaide Veterans' & Families' Hub

Part Time Permanent Position | 9:00am - 2:05pm Monday to Friday (22.8 hours per week)

SCHADS Level 3 | $80,020 - $85,797 per annum (pro rata) + Superannuation + Salary Packaging Benefits

Support Veterans. Strengthen Community. Make a Difference.

At Lives Lived Well, we believe in supporting people to live healthy, connected and fulfilling lives.

We're seeking a highly organised and community-minded Administration & Events Officer to join our Northern Adelaide Veterans' & Families' Hub.

This is more than an administration role. You'll be the welcoming face of the Hub, helping veterans and their families feel supported from the moment they walk through the door while also coordinating events, supporting community engagement initiatives and assisting with the day-to-day operations of the service.

Funded by the Department of Veterans' Affairs as part of the Australian Government's response to the Royal Commission into Defence and Veteran Suicide, the Hub provides a welcoming and supportive environment where veterans and their families can access services, strengthen wellbeing and build meaningful community connections.

Given the nature of the service, team members may engage with veterans and family members affected by trauma, mental health challenges, suicide, grief and other complex life experiences. Applicants should consider their own suitability for working within this environment.

About the Role

This is a permanent part-time position working 9:00am - 2:05pm Monday to Friday (22.8 hours per week).

While the role is primarily worked during these hours, some flexibility is required to support occasional community events and commemorative activities outside standard hours. This may include events such as ANZAC Day, Remembrance Day, veteran wellbeing activities and other community engagement initiatives.

You will work closely with the Centre Manager, clinicians, volunteers and community stakeholders to ensure the Hub provides a welcoming,

professional and engaging experience for veterans and their families.

No two days will be the same. You will provide front-of-house support, coordinate community events and activities, assist with social media and communications, and help ensure the smooth day-to-day operation of the Hub.

Key Responsibilities

- Provide high-quality administrative and reception support.
- Welcome and assist veterans, families, volunteers and visitors attending the Hub.
- Coordinate meetings, training sessions, community events and wellbeing activities.
- Prepare correspondence, reports, meeting minutes and administrative documentation.
- Maintain accurate records, databases and administrative systems.
- Support quality improvement, compliance, audit and workplace health and safety activities.
- Assist with social media content, event promotion and community communications.
- Coordinate venue bookings, catering, suppliers and event logistics.
- Support volunteer engagement and the delivery of Hub activities and events.
- Assist with facility and vehicle management requirements.
- Provide short-term supervision of children attending the Hub while parents or carers participate in counselling sessions, appointments or other Hub activities.

What We're Looking For To be successful in this role, you will have:

- Experience providing high-quality administrative support in a busy environment.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Exceptional organisational skills and attention to detail.
- Confidence managing competing priorities and multiple activities.
- Experience coordinating events, meetings, community activities or stakeholder engagement.
- Strong Microsoft Office skills, including Word, Excel and Outlook.
- Experience using social media platforms such as Facebook and Instagram.
- A professional, welcoming and customer-focused approach.
- The ability to work independently while contributing positively to a team environment.
- A willingness and confidence to occasionally supervise children attending the Hub whilst parents or carers participate in counselling sessions, appointments or Hub activities.

Highly Regarded

- Qualifications in Administration, Business or a related field.
- Experience working in community services, health, mental health, veterans' services or the not-for-profit sector.
- Experience supporting community engagement activities and events.
- Experience working with veterans, Defence families or community-based wellbeing services.
- Experience using Canva or similar content creation tools.
- Photography skills or an interest in capturing community events and activities.

Essential Requirements

- Current Australian Driver Licence.
- Current Working with Children Check (or ability to obtain).
- Current National Police Check (or ability to obtain).
- Ability to undertake occasional travel as required.

Why Join Lives Lived Well?

- Five additional days of paid wellbeing leave each year (pro rata).
- Salary packaging benefits to increase your take-home pay.
- Wellspring employee discounts across hundreds of retailers.
- Employee Assistance Program for you and your family.
- Ongoing learning, development and career progression opportunities.
- The opportunity to support veterans and their families through a nationally significant community service.
- A genuinely inclusive workplace committed to diversity, equity and inclusion.
