Position: Administration Officer (Finance)

Employment Type: 0.8 FTE Negotiable

Commencement: 27 January 2027. (Term 1, 2027)Join our vibrant school communitySt Margaret’s Primary School Maribyrnong is seeking an experienced and highly organised Administration Officer (Finance) to join our dedicated Administration Team.St Margaret’s is a welcoming Catholic school community committed to providing an environment where every child is known, valued and supported to flourish. Our school is grounded in faith and guided by a strong commitment to learning, wellbeing, positive relationships and the dignity of every member of our community.This is an important role within our school, supporting the effective financial and administrative operation of St Margaret’s. Working closely with the Principal, leadership team and administration staff, the successful applicant will bring strong financial administration skills, attention to detail and a professional and collaborative approach.About the roleThe Administration Officer (Finance) will be responsible for a broad range of financial and administrative functions, including:

- Management and reconciliation of school fees and levies
- Accounts payable and supplier payments
- Staff reimbursements and financial transactions
- Payroll administration and associated staff records
- CSEF and other family financial assistance processes
- Financial reconciliations and reporting
- Budget and expenditure tracking
- Enrolment and financial data reconciliation
- Census and audit preparation




- MACS financial and administrative reporting
- End-of-financial-year financial processes
- Supporting families and staff with financial and administrative enquiries

The role requires a high level of accuracy, confidentiality and professionalism, together with the ability to manage competing priorities and meet important deadlines.About youWe are looking for someone who:

- Has demonstrated experience in finance administration or a similar role
- Has excellent organisational and time management skills
- Demonstrates a high level of accuracy and attention to detail
- Is confident working with financial information and administrative systems
- Has strong written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills
- Can manage sensitive and confidential information appropriately
- Is able to work independently while contributing positively to a team
- Is flexible, adaptable and willing to support the broader needs of the school
- Has strong computer skills and experience with Microsoft Office and Google Workspace
- Understands and supports the mission and ethos of Catholic education
- Has experience working in a school or educational environment, which would be highly desirable
