Tram Assist and Care is seeking a caring and reliable aged and disability support worker for our participants based in Bankstown and Cabramatta Areas. This role involves travelling between customers’ homes and assisting them with daily living and lifestyle requirements by providing person-centric care and support.

Salary: Based on the respective Fair Work pay guide and your experience.

Hours: Approximately 18 - 24 hours, including2 - 4 hours morning and/or 2-4 hours afternoon shift.

Duties and responsibilities include:

- Domestic assistance: light household cleaning, laundry, and meal preparation
- Personal care and assistance with daily routines, including hygiene and other personal support needs
- Social support/transportation: social activities, shopping/groceries, travelling to medical appointments
- Supporting customers using aids and personal equipment, including standing or walking frames and wheelchairs.
- Support participants living with mental health conditions and/or complex support needs
- Monitor participants' wellbeing and promptly report any concerns, incidents or changes in their needs
- Follow individual support plans, organisational policies and relevant procedures
- Complete required progress notes and documentation accurately and on time
- Participate in staff meetings and attend required training

What We Are Looking For

- Able to maintain professional boundaries and respond appropriately without taking challenging behaviour or communication personally
- Comfortable providing personal care and domestic assistance
- Confident and safe when driving participants in the community
- Able to work independently while communicating effectively with participants, families and the care team

Requirements:

- Valid Australian work rights
- Previous experience supporting participants with mental health
- Availability for both morning and afternoon shifts on at least 2 weekdays per week
- Valid driver’s licence and reliable vehicle
- Speaks Vietnamese (preferred but not essential)

Desired qualifications:

- Minimum Certificate III or IV in Aged Care, Home & Community Care, Individual Support or Disability Services (or willing to obtain)
- First Aid and CPR certificates
- NDIS Worker Screening Clearance
- Other relevant professional qualifications or certificates are highly regarded

Job Type: Casual Pay: From $34.10 per hour
