Northern Health are seeking applications from motivated and suitably experienced Allied Health Assistant - Grade 2 or 3 to join the Allied Health Paediatrics team at Craigieburn Community Hosptial.

Northern Health is the major provider of acute, maternity, sub-acute, mental health, specialist, community and home-based services in Melbourne’s rapidly growing outer north.

Services are provided through our six main campuses:

Northern Hospital Epping, Broadmeadows Hospital, Bundoora Centre, Craigieburn and Mernda Community Hospitals and Kilmore District Hospital. In addition, Mental Health Services are provided at Epping, Broadmeadows, Jacana, Preston, Mill Park, Mernda and Coburg.

About the Role

The Allied Health Assistant is responsible for providing quality client care under the supervision of an Allied Health professional within the inpatient teams at Northern Health, and will also provide administrative support and undertake cleaning and maintenance activities as requested.

The role will include the provision of individual and group based therapy to outpatients.

This is a part time fixed term position (48 hours per fortnight) until April 2027.

To be successful in this role you will have:





- Demonstrate a patient/family centred focus in the provision of care
- Understands the basic theoretical principles of the work undertaken by Allied Health professionals
- Implement appropriate interventions as agreedwith an Allied Health clinician
- Supervise established programs for individual patients as requested by Allied Health clinicians
- Assists clinicians and clients in group programs
- Demonstrate ability to identify patient circumstances that require additional input from the Allied Health clinician
- Able to manage a varied paediatric caseload with minimal supervision
- Maintenance of therapy toys
