Located on Victoria’s Mornington Peninsula, St Andrews Beach Golf Course is a highly regarded Tom Doak-designed links course renowned for its strategic layout, natural coastal setting, firm playing surfaces and challenging green complexes. Open to the public seven days a week, it has been recognised among Australia’s leading public-access courses, ranked No. 6 in Australia by Top 100 Golf Courses for the 2026 ranking year and, in 2025, entered the same publication’s world ranking at No.

- Joining the course team offers an apprentice the opportunity to learn in a high-performance maintenance environment where attention to detail, consistent conditioning and an outstanding golfer experience are central to daily operations.

We are seeking a motivated apprentice who is eager to build a career in sports turf management, committed to learning and driven to continually improve. An interest in golf or sport would be advantageous but is not essential.

Working as part of the course maintenance team, you will help present the golf course and surrounds to the highest possible standard while developing practical skills across all aspects of sports turf management, including:

- Daily course setup, including changing hole locations and positioning tee markers.




- Secure operation of a wide range of turf maintenance equipment, including mowers and tractors.
- Application of chemicals and fertilisers in accordance with safe work practices.
- Bunker preparation and maintenance.
- Preparation of the course for tournaments and special events.
- Golf course renovation and turf establishment practices.
- Irrigation and drainage installation, maintenance and repairs.

The successful applicant will be self-motivated, reliable and punctual, with a positive attitude, a strong work ethic and a willingness to work outdoors in varying conditions.

Applicants must be able to travel to and from the workplace independently. A current driver licence and access to a reliable vehicle would be advantageous.

- Full-time employment with above-award wages and applicable overtime penalty rates.
- Employer-funded trade school attendance during scheduled working hours.
- Rostered weekend work and occasional weekday overtime to support major events and course works.
