Position Description:

The Financial Management and Property Services Branch is seeking a number of APS6 Finance Officers to work across the Financial Accounting, Financial Management and Property Services Teams. These roles provide an opportunity to contribute to the delivery of high quality financial, governance, policy and operational outcomes in a complex government environment.

Successful candidates will undertake complex and varied work, provide expert advice and support, and contribute to effective financial stewardship, reporting, compliance and continuous improvement initiatives. The roles require strong financial, analytical, communication and stakeholder engagement skills, sound judgement, and the ability to manage competing priorities while delivering accurate, timely and high quality outcomes.

Candidates will build productive relationships with internal and external stakeholders and support informed decision making that contributes to the achievement of departmental priorities.

Eligibility / Additional Requirements:





To be eligible for employment with Department of Social Services (the department), you must be an Australian citizen. An applicant's suitability for employment with the department will be assessed through a pre-employment screening process. This will include an identity and criminal history background check.

Eligibility to obtain an Australian Government Security Clearance:

To be eligible for this role, applicants must be able to obtain and maintain a security clearance at the required level through the Australian Government Security Vetting Agency (AGSVA). This includes meeting AGSVA's identity, referee, and background checking requirements. Applicants with a history of overseas residence, employment, or travel may still be eligible, provided they can supply the information, documentation, and referee details required to support the security vetting process in accordance with AGSVA requirements.
