Senior Fabrication Draftsperson – Site Measure & QA

A Class Metals is looking for an experienced Fabrication Draftsperson with good knowledge of stainless steel, aluminium or sheet metal to join our team in Caringbah.

This is not a purely desk-based drafting position. You’ll be involved from site measure through drafting, fabrication and QA , working closely with our workshop and management team.

The Role

You will be responsible for:

- Producing accurate fabrication and shop drawings
- 2D and 3D CAD drafting
- Attending site to take accurate measurements
- Converting site information into practical fabrication details
- Reviewing drawings for constructability before fabrication
- Liaising directly with fabricators, builders and customers
- Resolving technical issues during fabrication
- Checking critical dimensions, orientation and components
- Participating in our workshop QA process
- Ensuring the latest approved drawings are being followed

What We're Looking For

We want someone who has:

- Strong fabrication or manufacturing drafting experience
- Good knowledge of stainless steel, aluminium or sheet metal fabrication




- Experience reading architectural and fabrication drawings
- Accurate site-measuring ability
- Good spatial and dimensional awareness
- Excellent attention to detail
- The ability to work directly with tradespeople, builders and customers
- A practical approach to solving fabrication problems
- Experience with TIG welding, folding, laser cutting, architectural metalwork or custom fabrication would be highly regarded.

- $90,000–$110,000 + super
