As an Occupational Therapist, you will provide contemporary occupational therapy assessment, formulation and intervention services to adult inpatients within the Mental Health Unit at The Prince Charles Hospital (TPCH). Working within a recovery-oriented and trauma-informed model of care, you will use your clinical expertise to assess sensory, cognitive and functional needs, develop intervention strategies, contribute to discharge planning, and advocate for consumers, families and carers. You will also play an important role in supporting sensory approaches, promoting safe and therapeutic environments, and contributing to ongoing service improvement initiatives.

About you

Our ideal candidate will be someone who can carry out the following key accountabilities in accordance with the Metro North Health's values:

- Referral and liaison with other healthcare services, government and non-government agencies for facilitation and promotion of further rehabilitation and recovery.
- Advocacy to promote consumer, family and careridentifiedneeds within the service.
- Exercise increasingly independent clinical judgement and core problem solving skills andappropriate riskmanagement strategies to a complex inpatient caseload with supervision from a more senior clinician,commensuratewith level of knowledge and clinicalexpertise.
- Providecompetent level ofoccupational therapyadvice and education to the multidisciplinary team, operational supervisors, and key stakeholderssuch as government and non-government support roles, carers and family members asrequired.




- Participate in the development of clinical practices, procedures and protocols and other quality and service improvementand researchactivities within the Mental Health Service to continually improve consumer care.
