Accountant | Western Sydney | Construction

We are currently seeking an experienced Accountant to join a well-established project-based business in Western Sydney.

n

This is a hands‑on accounting role focused specifically on project accounting, WIP, forecasting and month‑end reporting . Working closely with the Finance Manager, you’ll play an important role in supporting the financial management of a busy construction operation.

The Role n

n
- Prepare and maintain accurate WIP reporting across construction projects
n
- Assist with forecasting, budgeting and financial analysis
n
- Prepare and support month‑end reporting and reconciliations
n
- Assist with accounts receivable and project‑related invoicing
n
- Manage and process progress claims and project invoices
n
- Upload new projects and relevant financial information into internal systems
n
- Monitor project financials and assist with identifying variances
n
- Provide day‑to‑day accounting support to the Finance Manager
n
- Work closely with project and operational teams to ensure financial information is accurate and up to date
n

About You n





We’re looking for a construction‑focused Accountant who understands the financial side of project‑based environments and is comfortable working closely with project teams.

n

You will ideally have:

n

n
- Previous accounting experience within construction, building or infrastructure
n
- Strong experience with WIP, forecasting and project accounting
n
- Experience with month‑end reporting and financial analysis
n
- Exposure to progress claims, invoicing and accounts receivable
n
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to work with large volumes of project data
n
- The ability to work independently while providing robust support to the Finance Manager
n
- Experience with a Tier 1/Tier 2 construction business or similar project environment would be highly regarded
n

This is not a generalist accounting role focused on BAS, tax and ATO compliance. The position is specifically focused on project and construction accounting , supporting the Finance Manager and ensuring the financial performance of projects is accurately reported and managed.
