Gas Hound is a busy Newstead pub with a little bit of everything — pool tables, electronic darts, live music, sport, cocktails and a great atmosphere. We’re looking for an experienced Assistant Manager to join the team and work closely with our Venue Manager across the day-to-day running of the venue.

THE ROLE

This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who enjoys being on the floor, leading a team and making sure the venue is running smoothly.

You’ll be responsible for

- Supporting the Venue Manager with the daily operation of Gas Hound
- Leading shifts and keeping the team organised and motivated
- Delivering great service and creating a welcoming guest experience
- Managing busy services and jumping in wherever needed
- Training, coaching and developing team members
- Assisting with stock takes, ordering and stock control
- Handling cash, POS and end-of-shift reconciliation
- Assisting with functions, events and venue promotions




- Dealing with guest feedback and resolving issues professionally
- Ensuring RSA, WHS and venue compliance standards are maintained
- Helping create a positive, energetic and supportive team culture

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

We’re looking for someone who:
- Has previous experience as a Supervisor, 2IC or Assistant Manager in hospitality
- Is confident leading a team during busy services
- Has a strong understanding of hospitality operations
- Is comfortable with POS, cash handling and stock control
- Has great communication and people skills
- Leads by example and isn’t afraid to get their hands dirty
- Can stay calm and solution-focused when things get busy
- Takes pride in the venue and the team around them
- Has a current RSA
- Is available to work nights, weekends and public holidays as required

Previous experience in a busy pub, bar, restaurant or nightclub is highly regarded.
