Your Role

Lidiar Group is seeking an experienced Consultant – Project Manager (Civil) to join our growing team.

This role is suited to a degree-qualified Civil Engineer who has progressed beyond purely technical engineering responsibilities and developed strong capability in project management, construction delivery, resource coordination, commercial management and client engagement.

As a Consultant Project Manager, you will provide project management and delivery expertise across the full project lifecycle - from project development and planning through procurement, mobilisation, execution, completion and handover.

Our portfolio spans multiple sectors, with assignments undertaken on both the client and contractor side. Our work ranges from discrete consulting and advisory engagements through to embedded roles where our consultants work directly within client and project teams.

You will apply your civil engineering and project management experience across:

- Project planning, mobilisation and execution

- Water and wastewater infrastructure

This is a hands-on project management and consulting role.

We are looking for someone who can take ownership of a project or significant workstream, establish what needs to be done, coordinate the people and resources required to deliver it, manage competing priorities and maintain control of programme, cost, quality, risk and stakeholder expectations.

You will be expected to combine sound technical understanding with strong project management judgement. You should be comfortable moving between construction and engineering issues, programme and resource constraints, commercial considerations and client requirements while maintaining focus on successful project outcomes.

Project Development / Planning

- Establishing project scope, objectives,



deliverables and execution strategies
- Development and review of project management and execution plans
- Constructability reviews and input into design development
- Development of project programmes, staging and delivery strategies
- Resource planning and workforce forecasting
- Development of procurement and contracting strategies
- Preparation and review of scopes of work and work packages
- Contractor and supplier procurement and tender evaluation
- Establishment of project budgets, cost controls and reporting frameworks
- Identification and management of project, construction and commercial risks
- Stakeholder identification, engagement planning and interface management

Project Execution

- Management and coordination of civil construction activities
- Leadership and coordination of project teams, site personnel and external resources
- Management of contractors, subcontractors, suppliers and consultants
- Planning and coordination of workforce, plant, equipment and construction resources
- Monitoring project progress against programme, budget and delivery objectives
- Management of project costs, commitments, forecasts and commercial performance
- Coordination of engineering, procurement and construction interfaces
- Implementation and oversight of project quality management systems
- Management of inspections, testing, non-conformances and corrective actions
- Identification and management of project risks, constraints and emerging issues
- Management of variations, changes and commercial impacts
- Preparation and review of project reports, forecasts and performance information
- Direct engagement with clients, contractors, authorities and project stakeholders

Completion / Commissioning

- Development and management of completion and handover strategies
- Coordination of commissioning and project readiness activities
- Management of defects, punch lists and outstanding works
- Coordination and close-out of quality records and handover documentation
- Commercial and contractual close-out of project packages
- Management of final project reporting and completion requirements
- Contribution to lessons learned and continuous improvement initiatives

Advisory / Client-Side Assignments
- Acting as the client’s representative within integrated project teams
- Providing project management and delivery advice
- Reviewing contractor programmes, delivery strategies and project performance
- Undertaking project health checks, assurance reviews and delivery assessments
- Supporting procurement, contractor selection and contract administration
- Reviewing project risks, forecasts and recovery strategies
- Establishing project governance, reporting and control frameworks
- Supporting clients through complex delivery and stakeholder issues
- Providing independent advice and recommendations to project leadership teams

Our Ideal Candidate The ideal candidate will be a degree-qualified Civil Engineer with postgraduate qualifications in Project Management and demonstrated experience delivering civil and infrastructure projects within the Australian construction or infrastructure environment.

You will have progressed beyond a predominantly technical engineering role and developed strong capability across project delivery, people and resource management, commercial management, quality and stakeholder engagement.

Experience across several civil infrastructure environments will be highly regarded, particularly:

- Large-scale earthworks and bulk civil works
- Water and wastewater infrastructure
- Transport infrastructure
- Building projects and associated civil works

- You will ideally demonstrate:

- A recognised Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering
- Postgraduate qualifications in Project Management (PMP or similar)




- Strong project and construction management experience
- Demonstrated experience coordinating multidisciplinary project teams and construction workforces
- Strong resource management capability, including workforce, subcontractor, plant and project resource coordination
- An understanding of project commercials, including budgets, forecasting, procurement, variations and cost control
- Solid quality management and quality assurance capability
- Experience developing and implementing project plans, programmes and delivery strategies
- An ability to identify, assess and proactively manage project risks
- Strong written communication and project reporting capability
- Mature stakeholder management and interpersonal skills
- Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain robust client relationships
- Confidence communicating with senior client representatives, contractors, consultants and project teams
- An ability to work independently, exercise sound judgement and take ownership of project outcomes

Experience working within a consulting environment will be highly regarded but is not essential. More important is your ability to adapt quickly, understand the needs of different clients and apply your project management experience effectively across different projects and delivery environments.

The Consultant We Are Looking For

Technical and project management capability is only part of this role.

As a Lidiar Group consultant, you will represent our business directly with our clients. We are therefore looking for someone with the maturity and interpersonal capability to quickly establish credibility, understand a client’s needs and become a trusted member of their project team.

You should be comfortable working with people at all levels of a project—from site supervisors and construction crews through to engineers, contractors, senior management and client representatives.

You will need to be able to analyse complex project issues, bring structure to challenging delivery environments, communicate clearly and provide practical solutions rather than simply identifying problems.

We are seeking an enthusiastic, engaged and accountable Project Manager who can lead people, coordinate resources, manage project performance and develop strong relationships while maintaining a explicit focus on successful delivery.

Practical Requirements The role is based in Brisbane and operates within Lidiar Group’s flexible and hybrid working arrangements.

Depending on assignments, there will be requirements to work from client offices and project sites and to undertake project-related travel. At times this may be on project rosters for the duration of projects - uplifts are applied to salary to compensate for this.

Candidates must hold appropriate Australian working rights and be able to work effectively within client, office and construction site environments.

Salary

Base salary: $140,000–$160,000 plus generous project uplifts, plus superannuation - commensurate with experience.

The successful candidate will also be eligible to participate in Lidiar Group’s performance incentive program after six months.
