Top-tier Australian firm | Banking & Finance | Sydney
Aircraft. Data centres. Rolling stock. Shipping. Major equipment. Emerging technologies.
Not every Banking & Finance role involves financing the same types of assets.
I’m working with a leading top-tier Australian firm looking to grow its Asset & Structured Finance practice in Sydney, with scope to potentially make more than one hire.
The work
You’ll advise major Australian and international banks, corporates, funds and government clients on complex financing transactions across an unusually diverse range of assets, including:
- Aviation and aerospace
- Rail, shipping and transport
- Data centres and technology infrastructure
- Mining, construction and other major equipment
- Receivables and portfolio financings
- Leasing and asset-backed structures
- Commodity financing
- Bespoke structured financing solutions The practice also works on cross-border financings, refinancings, restructurings and the development of current finance products.
The opportunity For a finance lawyer who enjoys the technical and commercial side of structuring transactions, there is a lot of variety here.
You can develop deeper expertise in asset and structured finance while still gaining exposure to matters across the wider Banking & Finance practice.
Who they’re looking for The team is interested in lawyers with a strong Banking & Finance background and some exposure to asset finance, structured finance or related transactions.
You don’t need to have spent your entire career specialising in the area. Lawyers with relevant experience who want to develop that expertise further are very much of interest.
A combination of private practice and relevant in-house experience can also work.
Australian finance lawyers currently overseas and considering a return to Sydney are encouraged to get in touch.
