The Ambulatory Care Centre (ACC) is a busy and diverse outpatient service supporting more than 40 specialty clinics and around 600 patient presentations each day. Working alongside experienced nurses, medical teams and allied health professionals, you will have the opportunity to work across a wide range of clinical areas, including Ophthalmology, Orthopaedics, Dermatology, ENT, Neurology, Plastics, Hand Surgery, Endocrinology and the Medical Day Procedure Unit

This is an excellent opportunity for an enthusiastic Assistant in Nursing looking to develop their skills and experience in a supportive and varied clinical environment.

About the role

Following completion of orientation and training, the successful applicant will work as part of the nursing team to support the delivery of patient care within the outpatient setting.

Working under the direction and supervision of a Registered Nurse, duties may include:

- Preparing clinic rooms and equipment
- Maintaining stock and clinical supplies




- Assisting with patient care and clinic flow
- Cleaning and maintaining equipment
- Supporting the nursing team with general clinical and administrative tasks
- Assisting with equipment repairs and maintenance processes
- Other duties within the AIN scope of practice and as delegated by the Registered Nurse

The successful applicant will be responsible for their own actions and accountable to the Registered Nurse for allocated duties.

Candidates will need to meet the following criteria:

- Currently enrolled in second or third year of a Bachelor of Nursing or degree deemed appropriate; or current enrolment in Diploma of Nursing (HLT54121) with evidence of completion of Block 1; or completion of HLT33115 Certificate III in Health Services Assistance (Assisting in Nursing Work in Acute Care).
- Knowledge and experience working in an acute healthcare workplace.
- Ability to work effectively in a busy, fast-paced environment.
- Demonstrated, effective written, verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrated ability to work in a team.
- A positive attitude and willingness to learn.
