Key Responsibilities

- Prepare and serve espresso-based coffees and other hot and cold beverages to a consistently high standard.
- Dial in coffee grinders and monitor espresso extraction throughout the day.
- Texture milk correctly and prepare common coffee styles confidently.
- Take customer orders and provide friendly, attentive service.
- Operate the POS system and process cash and electronic payments.
- Serve food, cakes, pastries and other café products.
- Assist with simple food preparation where required.
- Maintain the coffee station, service counter and customer areas.
- Clear tables, wash dishes and glassware, and assist with general cleaning.
- Restock milk, coffee, takeaway supplies, food displays and other service items.
- Assist with opening and closing procedures.
- Monitor stock levels and report shortages to the manager or team leader.
- Follow food safety, hygiene and workplace safety procedures.




- Work efficiently during busy service periods while maintaining quality and presentation.
- Communicate clearly with kitchen, bar and front-of-house team members.
- Assist other team members when required and contribute to the smooth running of the venue.

Skills & Experience The ideal candidate will have:
- Previous barista or café experience.
- Good espresso coffee preparation and milk-texturing skills.
- Strong customer service and communication skills.
- Ability to work efficiently in a busy café environment.
- A positive and professional attitude.
- Good personal presentation and hygiene.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
- Reliability and punctuality.
- Flexibility to work mornings, weekends and public holidays where required.

Desirable
- Experience with specialty coffee.
- Latte art skills.
- Previous café, restaurant or hospitality all-rounder experience.
- Food handling knowledge or relevant food safety training.
- Responsible Service of Alcohol (RSA) certification where the employee will be involved in alcohol service.

Physical Requirements The position involves standing for extended periods, carrying café supplies, cleaning, repetitive coffee preparation and working in a fast-paced hospitality environment.

Pay: $26.44 – $36.00 per hour

Expected hours: 30.0 – 38.0 per week
