About the role

WAMA Foundation - the National Centre for Environmental Art, is a not-for-profit, community-based precinct bringing together art, nature, science and community through our gallery, gardens, café, venue and education programs.

We're looking for an experienced and enthusiastic Café All-Rounder / Barista to join our small, friendly team, working four days a week, Thursday to Sunday. This is a varied, hands-on role suited to someone who enjoys hospitality, takes initiative and is confident working independently while contributing to a dynamic team.

From welcoming visitors and preparing great coffee and food to catering for group bookings and events, you'll play an important role in creating a memorable experience for everyone who visits WAMA.

Key responsibilities

- Preparing quality coffee

- Preparing simple café food and meals

- Serving customers and taking orders on POS system

- Keeping the café clean, tidy and well presented

- Stocking and basic food preparation

- Serving alcohol

- Organising catering for booked groups

- Helping create a welcoming experience for visitors to WAMA

About you

- Previous barista experience

- Experience preparing food in a café or similar environment

- Good customer service skills
- The ability to work independently and take initiative
- A friendly and positive attitude

- Positive attention to cleanliness and food safety
- An RSA and food handling certificate, or willingness to obtain one
- The ability to work Thursday–Sunday
