South Burnett CTC is inviting Expressions of Interest for voluntary Board Member positions from people who want to use their skills, experience and expertise to contribute to the governance and direction of an organisation making a meaningful difference across the South Burnett and Cherbourg communities.

About South Burnett CTC

Established in 1983, South Burnett CTC Inc is a community-based, not-for-profit organisation supporting people across the South Burnett and Cherbourg regions. CTC delivers community-driven services spanning community engagement, homelessness and housing, youth and family support, disability services and housing, domestic and family violence support, residential services, foster care, emergency relief and crisis intervention.

CTC is guided by the values of Integrity, Empathy and Collaboration. Our Board provides stewardship so the organisation can remain purpose-led, safe, sustainable, accountable and responsive to changing community need.

CTC is strengthening its Board capability, composition and succession planning following an independent governance evaluation. We are seeking people who can add diverse perspectives, sound judgement and relevant expertise to a collective Board, while remaining strongly connected to CTC’s purpose and the communities we serve.

Purpose of the Role A Board Member contributes to the collective governance and strategic leadership of CTC. The role is to exercise independent judgement, ask constructive questions, make informed decisions and oversee organisational performance without becoming involved in day-to-day management.

Skills and Experience

We are particularly interested in people with experience in one or more of the following areas. Candidates are not expected to have experience across all areas.

- Governance and leadership
- Finance, audit or business sustainability
- Risk, compliance or safety
- Law and regulation
- Community and human services
- People and culture
- Digital, cyber and information management
- Strategic planning and stakeholder engagement
- Lived experience and local community insight

Commitment

Board meetings are generally held monthly in Kingaroy.



Board Members are expected to prepare for meetings and may occasionally participate in strategy sessions, career development activities, site visits or working groups.

Eligibility Requirements

Preferred candidates must be eligible to serve and meet CTC’s governance and screening requirements. This includes, as applicable:

- Director identification number
- Working with Children Check (Blue Card) (ability to acquire)
- NDIS Worker Screening Check (ability to acquire)
- Child Safety and Personal History Check (ability to acquire)
- Checks of ASIC and ACNC disqualified-person registers
- Any additional declarations, identification, probity or conflict-of-interest requirements requested by CTC

Any appointment remains subject to CTC’s Constitution, membership and election requirements, screening outcomes and Board approval processes.
